Abstract. Every day thousands of people work on development of thousands of software projects. To insure, that a reasonable cost and adequate time are spent on development of these projects, it is necessary to control this development. And it is part of management of project – monitoring, that serves to us, so that we don't waste a time and costs. Monitoring of project helps us to keep project on schedule and avoid unnecessary problems in its development. However, if we want to monitoring project, we need to determinate how to do it, what to look for and which metrics to use.

Software metrics - good helper but a bad master

Abstract. Creating a software project is extremely complex process in which it is necessary to introduce some measurement methods that allow determine the properties of such a product. Using software metrics managers can monitor more effectively software projects and thus they can better manage resources and reduce overall project time. The main concern for companies is not only to create a quality final product that would satisfy a customer, but especially the most profit in the shortest possible time. Precisely for this reason are trying to implement the most effective ways to measure, but software metrics are not necessarily authoritative, and therefore it is important to use them wisely. Excessive rate of monitoring can be also counterproductive and therefore in the essay I will focus on best-known software metrics and methods for their efficient use.

It highlights the need for monitoring software to enhance the quality of the development and indicates the possibility of specific methods of monitoring, by means of software agents. It discusses the quality of this technique and presents the advantages and disadvantages of its use. The main point of the essay is a comparison of software agents with human beings. This is a comparison of their properties and then their reasoning, justify a situation where it is advantageous to use software agents and how to manage these agents. On the other hand, it talks about the opposite satiation, ant the disadvantages of software agents, which favors a major player in person.

Abstract. Monitoring is often used for better project planning. It follows the state of the project and helps to uncover errors which cause problems in software development. Monitoring provides a view on team behavior too. We can rate it on the basis of collected data. Results can be inaccurate when improper metrics are used. This Essay describes how can such a vagueness lead to bad relationships in a team. Many well established metrics can be used by the team members to pretend that they have done more work. Therefore various conflicts emerge. They tend to reflect on the project development. Team morale and efficiency is also reduced. Project managers often use easy to follow metrics, which incite such team problems. This essay shows that such metrics are unsuitable and presents alternatives to their use.

Abstract. The future of software projects is important, but often forgotten and underestimated topic. From the perspective of agile development in the context of Scrum projects it`s a significant and indispensable part which is pointed out in each development phase. A successful future is assured through project monitoring and controlling. The aim of project monitoring and controlling is early identification of risks and their early removal by using appropriate techniques and metrics. This is the reason why there are so many project failures. For Scrum processes this opens up new possibilities in the selection of specific techniques for different situations. The point is to record essential values that allow us to monitor the status and progress of Scrum projects and their dynamic nature. And so even promising and well-developed student projects often end unsuccessfully or incomplete. One of the reasons is the weak scheduling tasks figuring in poor self-control, or control by the other members of the project team. In practice, this problem of software projects solves monitoring management, which oversees the process of project creation. In student environment is sometimes problem to integrate the monitoring management from time-management reasons, or lack of human resources.
