Abstract. The essay deals with the different ways of communication within and between teams during software development. It focuses in particular on the case of software development, where teams collaborate with offices in the same building, but where the level of communication is similar with teams thousands of miles distant. I identified the reasons why the communication between the teams is needed. This fact is mainly due to the interdependence of the individual teams. I can say that the lack of communication is due to mainly ways to apply team members to communicate outside of the team. Main problem can be described as increase in email communication, precisely at the expense of verbal communication. Then I put my experience into practice, showing that the team members have either personal obstacles, why not sufficiently communicate with members of other teams, or cannot identify the person with whom them need to communicate, or other personal or behavioral barriers that prevent them from communication. At the end of the essay, I proposed a solution to prevent a lack of communication between the teams, which is based on the correct management team members, project managers resulting in improving their communication skills and greater independence.

Abstract. Most diverse personalities with various skills and experience meet when a group of people have to form a team and cooperate on a project. Many manager emphasize skills and experience when they pick members of their team. Not always do they place emphasis on the dynamic of relationships between team members. According to Belbin team inventory, there are 9 team roles and these team roles can show us, how will the team members cooperate, type of communication between team members, if the synergy between the team members will move the team forward, or conflict between team members will arise and it will hamper the whole team. In this essay I want to explore the interactions between the team roles, managers options for effective communication, his options to improve the assignment of functions in existing teams and to prevent possible problems between team members.

Abstract. The proper functioning of the team requires a lot of effort to handle different members. The cornerstone of effective sharing and exchanging information is knowledge of the environment. Communication changes dynamically, often with changing moods of the team members. This paper discusses several aspects of the Emotional Intelligence, focusing on the processes of team and individual factors affecting the conduct of the team. Essay presents the results of studies showing the impact of emotional effect on team members and increases the overall productivity of the team.

Abstract. The success of the team project depends on many things - from the least significant to the essential aspects. Every success must overcome enormous variety of risks that should be detected the sooner the better by experienced risk managers. At the same time they should effectively and reliably evaluate how the imminent danger could be removed, or at least mitigated. The greatest competitive advantage in the project implementation is teamwork, which has extremely high strength. But in each team once occur social risks that could cause disintegration of the team. In this essay I would like to outline the main causes of team failure and concurrently I will describe how these reasons detect and remove. The team of people that can pull together can be very quickly the most successful in any sectors.

Abstract. Team creating is challenging task when one needs to combine not just quality characteristics of a team member, but personal characteristics to supplement other team members as well. Operation of the team using Scrum is even more important because of practically no time for hesitance. In this essay I discuss importance of team member in a team, problems one can cause and impact of individual on quality of whole team work. I explain the case when a small problem can contain more complex and hidden problems and according to my experience I try to propose methods how to deal with such a problems. Essay judges one’s characteristics and their influence on team members, work progress and final result, options of team members present when a problem occurs and most common problems connected with a person’s characteristics.

Abstract. The communication between people standing face-to-face is many times complicated and difficult, but we are improving in this sphere day by day. The success of every single man and society is based on communication, as well as their projects. But how can be the communication in project creation successful, when we are distant from each other hundreds of kilometers and dispense us different languages and traditions? In this essay I describe the choice of communicational tools suitable for communication in open software projects that make possible collaboration between foreign people without direct contact. In next part of essay I present a look on communication ways by designing a project. The biggest part of this essay is dedicated to communication about a source code, which is important factor in functioning of whole project. I do analyze the most frequented problems, which can appear in communication about a project and which really appear. Thereafter I suggest more or less effective ways to how the communication guide to the project or evade from those parts, which need the direction.

Abstract. Communication within the team is important part of project management. Exchange of information is not just about tools but also about people involved. Every form of communication has its own pros and cons and knowledge of it can help us decide which one to choose. Right choice for given circumstance can enhance clarity and relevancy of communicated information which is crucial for leading project to successful end. Effective communication is relevant to any team but has also implications for software team.

Abstract. Monitoring is an important part of a project management. We monitor with the aim to have a control over processes, that need to be adapted to occuring changes. The use of good methods for monitoring improves chances of successful completion of the project in the required time and budget. The term management usually presents a set of actions associated with a leading of a team. But we can also manage yourself for any self-activity. Methods used in this kind of management can be based on the methods of team management. The essay presents some prevalent approaches to monitoring and analyzes the possibility of using them to monitor activity of student of computer science during his semester, in order to improve effectivity of his work and increase his success.

Abstract. Communication is one of the most important human skills. It is the basis of any successful collaboration. This essay addresses the importance of communication in software development projects. It refers to the underestimation of communication, despite the ever increasing level and size of software projects, because many times these development projects spread among several countries. It refers to the possible reasons for failure of software projects and to what degree is it a fault of bad communication. Essay describes effective communication as a basis for the success of each project. Furthermore ,it addresses the problems that often have with communication not only developers, but also managers. These problems are then reflected negatively on the success of the project, of course. Essay addresses communications style and personality of manager as a basis for effective communication, which is necessary for success of software project.

Abstract. As a team we find ourselves in a simulated environment, which was created by a faculty, it’s teachers and students. Team is composed of 7 people and all of them are from the same country. This fact is an important factor for leading and communication within the team. I will be focusing on details of leader’s behaviour towards his subordinates in singlecultural team. I am taking a look at an example of studying in an eastern country, on which I will apply my own opinion about my domestic culture, which I have gained by my experience in the faculty. In the second view I will try to imagine working in a real environment, per se (including internationalism). In this section I will take a better look on pros and cons, of this team’s composition and in pros, I will try to find the solution for the problem that may appear in a singlecultural team. I am going to try to apply the final results on the simulated environment of the subject: Team project.

Abstract. Development and coordination of the software project is a challenging and often risky process. Aim of risk management is to study potential risks associated with development, predict them and minimize the likelihood of their appearance. This work is centred on risk management associated with outsourcing project to offshore companies, where a whole new risk factors arise. I address the fundamental issues and challenges related to the specific nature of the relationship between client and offshore supplier. My work analyzes the issue of the proper choice of supplier, risks arising from communication between different cultures and the problems associated with the physical distance of both parties. For all the discussed problems solutions are proposed.

Abstract. The goal of this essay is to consider the proper way of using e-mail communication. After describing some clear advantages of this communication way author tries to put the advantages under some conditions. According to research and personal opinion essay tries to show that the well-known advantages are not automatic and can be discarded by wrong usage. This work thinks about the main reasons of e-mails’ decreased efficiency, makes a conclusion and gives us some problem solving hints.

Abstract. Software development is a difficult process, which the integral part is the cooperation of a large number of people. Due to a globalization trend distributed software development becomes very common. Teams of analysts, designers, programmers and testers are scattered all over the world. Their mutual cooperation is based on communication at a distance. In the essay I discuss the importance of distributed teams and the reason of their existence. In addition I discuss communication tools, which members of distributed teams need to communicate with each other and advantages and disadvantages of the communication tools. Furthermore, I focus on the effectiveness of communication at distance and I describe my own experiences in the essay. In the conclusion I try to look closer at the team spirit building when team members are distributed all over the world.

Abstract. Content of this essay is reflection about problems in communication in teams, which are not working in one place. Members of these teams communicate with each other at minimum level resulting in frequent misunderstanding. Attempt of this essay is to specify communication in general. This topic was dealt with in the past by many people in various disciplines as social psychology and philosophy. Knowledge from these disciplines is mainly related to communication within personal meetings. Therefore it is very important to think about how modern information technologies can make easier communication in distributed teams. In conclusion of this essay, there is description of author’s personal experience with work in distributed team, together with problems related with communication and their solutions.

Abstract. Currently, there are high demands on software development. For a team to succeed in fierce competition, it is no logner sufficient to be just good enough.The key member of the team is its leader, who is responsible for the realisation of the project, operation of the team, incuding teams comunication. Work and operation of a team allways depends on quality of comunication between its members. It is a challenge for the team leader to guide the communication in the right direction and to be able to keep his team motivated to succeed. In my essay I am reviewing different forms of comunication, their effectivness, and advantages and disadvantages of different comunication tools. In latter part I am focusing on proper comunication from the team leaders point of view, where I conclude with my opinion on intercontection between efective comunication and motivation.

Abstract. Communication is in the case of projects involving multiple people important tool for solving problems. It helps the whole team to stay in touch and have access to fresh information about the project. However, is it necessary for each member of team to have overal picture of solution? Does he need all the information about what is happening in the team to work on his part of the solution? Is it necessary that everyone express himself to the overall solution? I will try to answer these questions and give the reader a picture of my view on this issue. I will introduce the reader into the problematic of communication in the team and express an opinion on individual communication practices used in the team management.

Abstract. Communication is a base of every human coexistence and cooperation. In software development, correct choice of communication method is critical. This is the reason, why I will try to analyse and describe all common forms of communication used in software engineering. Main subject of this essay is local and distributed communication and their appeal on team performance. I claim that local communication is always an advantage. Subsequently I describe formality as a phenomenon in team cooperation and its appeal on motivation and oppositely on chaos in communication. Last but not least is analysis of synchronnous and asynchronnous communication method following with recommendation how to use them properly and in correct situation. In this essay I will describe all afore mentioned methods of communication in detail and also their final outcome on project results. Later I will identify usability of all this methods in certain situations as well as consequences of their incorrect use. In this essay I compare suitability of all methods based on number of people in team and also based on software development process phase we are currently in.

Abstract. Healthy communication inside team is crucial prerequisite for project to be successful. In distributed team environment it is even more complicated and even more important to manage communication properly. Team members have to communicate and cooperate with someone, whom they have never met before. The most preferred type of communication, face to face, is not possible within distributed team. Growth of the new communication supportive technologies opens up new possibilities of more efficient communication in local teams. Proper use of these technologies allows us to solve problems associated with distributed teams creation. I have identified variety of communication forms and their efficient usage in the essay. Can distributed team be efficient? Efficiency does not depend solely on its communication, however, the communication can be efficient.

Abstract. Monitoring is a key aspect for a successful project. Without monitoring the real state of the project many mistakes, about which we had no idea, could appear at the end. Each member of the team can hide his mistakes for a long time. It is not necessarily their fault, it is also caused by their lack of experience. We can look at monitoring from different sides, not only as monitoring parts of the project but also as monitoring the direction of the whole project and its state. Both sides are equally important. Monitoring cannot be the responsibility of a single team member -- the monitoring manager or the mentor, everyone has to do their duties. I highlight the personal responsibility of each team member and the need to communicate among team members about errors and the state of each component. This should be done at the team meetings, where the monitoring manager tries to motivate the members to communicate about the progress of their work. The tools for monitoring and an experienced mentor are beneficial, but they do not guarantee a good result.
