Abstract. To facilitate planning and improvement of monitoring of the development process, there are various metrics that try to measure a product or process itself. Software metrics, however, suffer from some problems which arise from the nature of the software itself. The essay will explain the nature of these problems and it will try to answer the question about contribution of metrics to software development process. An important issue is the agile software development, which is used by more and more companies these days. In accordance with the agile methodology, decisions are made by professionals and rely mainly on intuition. Recently, there were various modifications of metrics used for the needs of agile development process. If these metrics have to be meaningful, they have to be modified to reflect the agile development methodology. Can these metrics be beneficial? Is it useful to use them?

Abstract. The process of project monitoring is the possibility to learn about the state of the project development. Using project monitoring we can estimate the quality of the program, also we can measure the efforts of the individual members of the team. Now, when the agile software development is widely used we need to invest more time to the project monitoring, so we can estimate the risks, and avoid errors. The term monitoring can means monitoring of the code quality, but also means monitoring the team members as individuals. So we can determine if they work according to the plan. Monitoring consists of three main elements: collection, analysis and preparation of records. This paper describes how to monitor projects using metrics for monitoring in software development. This essay describes the options of observing the quality of the work or the process of the task allocation.

Abstract. The process of monitoring as whole is basic element of revealing of the work on project. It debates and analyzes methods of use cases, fuzzy logic and stakeholders to express subjective perspective of using these methods in larger or smaller projects and to reduce wasting of resources like time, costs and to achieve general success of project. It is important to find compromises in the solutions and offer ideal solution to customer. The monitoring must have goals and metrics. Then it helps to managers to direct the project, to keep it on correct way to its objectives and to reveal mistakes early, which could cause such wasting of time on development of project. We must perform it the way to help us and not to damage us.

Abstract. The size of software projects was rapidly increased. There came a real problem of supervision and monitoring these projects to guarantee quality, simplicity, clarity of product and meeting the requirements of customer just in time. Monitoring is included in all phases of software development from planning and identifying the main goals to delivery to customer. There should be defined what to be monitored, how and why it should be monitored. The metrics used for monitoring and main goals that are monitored should set up better discovery of problems and faster way of solving them.

Abstract. Monitoring is a key aspect for a successful project. Without monitoring the real state of the project many mistakes, about which we had no idea, could appear at the end. Each member of the team can hide his mistakes for a long time. It is not necessarily their fault, it is also caused by their lack of experience. We can look at monitoring from different sides, not only as monitoring parts of the project but also as monitoring the direction of the whole project and its state. Both sides are equally important. Monitoring cannot be the responsibility of a single team member -- the monitoring manager or the mentor, everyone has to do their duties. I highlight the personal responsibility of each team member and the need to communicate among team members about errors and the state of each component. This should be done at the team meetings, where the monitoring manager tries to motivate the members to communicate about the progress of their work. The tools for monitoring and an experienced mentor are beneficial, but they do not guarantee a good result.
