Enrolment information for admitted applicants to the 1st year of Master's studies in the academic year 2026/2027
Dear applicant,
We would like to inform you about what is important for you to know before the start of the academic year.
Return Form
A "Return Form" has been sent to your email address, which you use to bindingly confirm your interest in studying at our faculty. Completing it in full by 21 July 2026 is a requirement for successful enrolment. Detailed instructions on how to do this can be found directly in AIS.
Enrolment
- Enrolment of applicants who have Slovak citizenship or citizenship of a country within the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland will take place on 22 July 2026 without physical presence.
By the day of enrolment, you must deliver by post:- a certified copy of your bachelor's diploma and transcript in paper form (if you have not already done so; this does not apply to FIIT graduates in the academic year 2025/2026),
- the completed and signed form Consent to enrolment without physical presence
with a notarized/certified signature (at a local municipal office, registry office, or notary).
- Enrolment for applicants from third countries will take place in person on 2 September 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies STU in Bratislava, at the Study Department. An applicant cannot be enrolled by proxy and must appear in person for enrolment.
On the day of enrolment, you must bring with you:- a certified copy of your bachelor's diploma and transcript in paper form (if you have not already done so),
- if you studied abroad, the documents must be officially translated into Slovak,
- a certified copy of nostrification or Clause on recognition of foreign degree of education (note: if you are from Ukraine and submitting a clause, you must verify your documents via the Register of Education Documents https://info.edbo.gov.ua/edu-documents/ and insert the entire set of documents into the e-application. Without this verification, your Clause is invalid. If you are from another country, your documents must bear an Apostille (higher authentication of document)),
- a passport for inspection to verify your identity,
- a copy of your passport to submit,
- proof of a residence permit for foreigners, if already issued.
Start of classes
Classes begin on 14 September 2026 (Monday).
Student ID card
Every FIIT student is required to have a student ID card. Ordering a new card or prolongation stamp, payment, and uploading a photograph (in the case of a new card) are performed via the "Return Form". You will pick up your ID card / prolongation stamp at the Study Department in September.
Confirmation of school attendance
From 2 September, you can download a confirmation of study with the electronic seal of STU from the Academic Information System (AIS) via your Student Portal - Document Printing icon - "Print electronically sealed documents". You will then find the electronically sealed document via the Document Repository icon.

Accommodation
If you do not have permanent residence in the Bratislava region, you can apply for accommodation in a student dormitory. The application must be submitted by 15 July 2026 electronically via: https://ubytovanie.stuba.sk/new/en/.
An application can only be approved for an enrolled student. Selection is carried out strictly according to a ranking list based on the grade point average (GPA) from previous studies. Distance from the place of residence is not taken into account.
Once your application has been approved, book your room within 5 days, otherwise the reservation system will automatically cancel your accommodation.
Make payments by bank transfer within the specified due date, quoting the correct variable symbol.
If you have previously been enrolled in the same level of university study at any university in the Slovak Republic, accommodation will only be allocated to you if capacity allows (STU Criteria, Article 2, Point 7).
