Enrolment information for admitted applicants to the 1st year of the Bachelor's studies in the academic year 2026/2027
Important information you need to know before the start of the academic year.
Return form
A “Return Form” (Instructions for filling out the return form
) has been sent to your mailboxes to confirm your interest in studying at our faculty. Its complete completion by 9 July 2026 is a condition for successful enrolment. Detailed instructions on how to do this can be found directly in the AIS.
Enrolment
- Enrolment of applicants who have Slovak citizenship or citizenship of a country within the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland will run until 10 July 2026 without physical presence.
By the day of enrolment, you must deliver by post:- a certified copy of your matriculation certificate in paper form (if you have not already done so),
- a completed form Consent to enrolment without physical presence with a certified signature (at the local office or at a notary).
- Collection of enrolment documents for applicants from third countries will take place in person on 26 August 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies of the STU in Bratislava, at the Study Department. An applicant must be present in person, their identity document will be checked.
On the day of enrolment it is necessary to bring with yourself:- a certified copy of the official translation of your school leaving certificate (if you have not already delivered it),
- a certified copy of the Nostrification or Recognition of Foreign Degree Clause (attention, if you are from Ukraine and submit a clause, you must verify your school leaving certificate via the Register of Educational Documents: https://info.edbo.gov.ua/edu-documents/ and insert the complete document file into your e-application. Without this verification, the Clause is invalid. If you are from another country, your documents must be provided with an Apostille (higher document verification)),
- a certificate of proficiency in the Slovak language (if you have not already submitted it),
- your passport for viewing and a copy of your passport to be handed in,
- if you are 16 years old or older at the time of enrolment, but have not yet reached 18 years of age, you will submit a Statutory Declaration form specifying details about your legal representatives (the form will be added later),
- if you are under 16 years old at the time of enrolment, you will submit a Declaration and Consent of Legal Representatives to Legal Acts of a Minor form. The declaration must be signed by a legal representative (parent or other person designated by the state), with the signature being notarized (the form will be added later).
Important information on enrolment for underage applicants from third countries
Due to the necessity to comply with the new legislative amendment regarding Section 138(5) of the Higher Education Act, which with effect from 1 September 2026 regulates the rights and obligations of minors as follows: A natural person who is an applicant or a student may exercise the rights and perform obligations under this Act independently from the day they reach 16 years of age, enrolment for underage applicants will take place on 1 September 2026.
Start of classes
Classes begin on 11 September 2026 (Friday) at 8:00 a.m. with "Introduction to Studies". Attendance at the introduction to studies is compulsory and any absence must be duly excused in accordance with the Study Regulations.

Student ID card
Every FIIT student is required to have a student ID card. Order, pay and insert your photo via the "Return Form". You will pick up your ID card at the study department in September.
Confirmation of school attendance
From 1 September, you can download a confirmation of study with the STU electronic seal from the Academic Information System via your Student Portal - Document Printing icon - "Print electronically sealed documents". You can then find the electronically sealed document via the Document Repository icon.

Accommodation
If you do not have permanent residence in the Bratislava region, you can apply for accommodation in a student house. The application must be submitted by 25 July 2026, electronically, via: https://ubytovanie.stuba.sk/new/.
Only enrolled students can be approved to apply. This is done strictly according to a waiting list, which is based on the scores obtained in the admissions procedure. Distance from the place of residence is not taken into account.
Once your application has been approved, you must book your room within 5 days, otherwise the booking system will automatically cancel your accommodation.
Make payment by bank transfer within the due date, quoting the correct variable symbol.
If you have previously been enrolled in the same level of university study at a university in the Slovak Republic, you will only be allocated accommodation if there is a capacity available (STU Criteria, Article 2, point 7).
If you have not reached the age of 18 at the time of enrolment, when checking in for accommodation submit to the relevant student dormitory the forms that you can find directly in the accommodation system under Information - Dormitory Accommodation.
ATTENTION: A student under the age of 17 cannot be accommodated.
