By successfully completing an IET accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programme at our faculty, students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain professional registration with the IET, thereby gaining international recognition as a professional in their field.
The next step in your career is to achieve professional registration, which demonstrates not only your level of knowledge but also your level of competence and a commitment to further engagement (development).
The steps to obtain professional registration are as follows:
- Register on the IET portal.
- Become an IET Member – membership £197 GBP (students and graduates within 5 years - £35 GBP).
- Complete and submit an application. There are two methods available:
- online via the Career Manager tool (preferred method),
- b. via a paper version of the application form, which the IET will provide on request.
What you will need during registration:
- One person (mentor) to support your application (you can have two additional supporters),
- University certificates/diplomas,
- Accountability diagram,
- Your development action plan (optional).
A Professional Registration Advisor (PRA) is available for questions and for final review of your application.
