The aim of the diploma project is to master the methods and procedures of solving relatively large projects, to demonstrate the ability to independently and creatively solve complex tasks and research tasks in accordance with current methods and procedures used in the relevant field, to independently, creatively and critically approach the analysis of possible solutions and the creation of models. The supervisor or the pedagogical supervisor is methodologically involved in his/her preparation.
The process of the diploma project has three milestones:
- Preparation of an interim report on the project (Diploma Project I)
- Preparation of an interim report on the project (Diploma Project II) and its defence
- Final project report (Diploma Thesis) and its defence, which is part of the state examination of the master studies
Follow the rules of academic ethics and correctly identify and cite the information sources used (bibliographic references and citations in Slovak) when dealing with your thesis project.

The assignment change
In the event that a situation occurs during the solution, when the draft of the thesis assignment does not suit, it is possible to change it usually in the checkpoints after the completion of the subject Diploma Project I or Diploma Project II. This is done by the student uploading a Request for Change of Thesis Assignment (PDF) to the Yonban system no later than two weeks before the start of the semester following the semester in which the relevant Solution Report (DPI or DPII) was submitted and creating an Assignment Revision in Yonban, which will be e-signed by the thesis advisor. The request will include a justification for the change. In addition to the justification for the change, the justification for the change shall also include detailed information on what the change is. The proposed change shall be approved by the program supervisor.
