FIIT is the youngest of the seven faculties of Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. A base for the FIIT formation was the place of work, which guaranteed education and research in IIT at the STU till origination of the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies.

International cooperation is a significant area based on interactive contact with edu cational as well as scientific - research institutions of the countries all over the world. First of all, it is focused on solution of the joint projects within the EU framework.

STU is a public university. It is a legal entity acting in legal issues on its own behalf. STU faculty bodies of autonomous academic administration have the right to take decisions and act on behalf of STU in issues specified by the Article on universities and by the Regulation of STU.
