10:00 – 10:15 | Mojmír Mamojka: (FL CU in Bratislava) Selected theoretical and application aspects of the AI Act and their impact on the use of AI tools in legal practice The subject of the paper is selected theoretical and application aspects of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 June 2024 laying down harmonised rules in the field of artificial intelligence (the so-called Artificial Intelligence Act). The speaker will present the legal framework of this act in connection with the controversy between the needs of public law (e.g. protection of health and property, including limitations on the use of artificial intelligence tools in public spaces) and the prerogatives of private law (e.g. protection of personality). The speaker will also present the expected benefits and risks of using artificial intelligence tools in analysing the level of trustworthiness of potential contractual partners in commercial legal relationships, in drafting commercial contracts (e.g. silent partnership contracts) and in preparing court decisions. |
