Abstract
We will look at the probabilistic theory of traffic generated by the users and of the network - the serving machine. We are faced with several problems: NP-hard topology design problems and long-range dependent traffic due to heavy data from applications like social media. The foundation is based on classical telecommunications engineering and its extensions to the principles used today.
Christofer Larsson is a consultant in network design and traffic engineering, having worked for Ericsson for a decade. He holds an MSc in Engineering Physics from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. Author of the book Design of Modern Communication Networks: Methods and Applications. Founding Partner of Netonomics. Consultant in telecommunications network design, traffic engineering and optimization.
